False Memories, the Pines

Current False Memories:

-knows Lantar Sidonis. they've worked odd jobs together, are close enough to at least be familiar, even if they aren't specifically friends. 10K helps him out occasionally at the bar with taking in deliveries and the occasional repair.
-Nephew of Cassian Andor, on his mother's side.

Wayward Pines False History:

Only child, mother died of cancer when he was 8, after which his father became reclusive, then a shut-in. At age ten, 10K (then Tommy) was withdrawn from school to be home schooled, however thanks to Idaho's lax home education standards, it wasn't really homeschooling so much as it was survival training and boot camp. His father died of a stroke when he was 16; since then, he's been doing odd jobs around town to get by and working menial labor positions.

Ideas I've got knocking around that I kinda hinted at in my tag:
- so I suspect Cassian and Tommy's dad did NOT get along, mostly because Cassian would've been livid that a 10 year old is pulled out of school right after his mother's death and probably because he seriously doubted his father's ability to homeschool him in any normal, adjusted kinda way
- thus Cassian stayed around so that Tommy would have another relative to go to if needed but. probably still antagonized his father about Tommy's socialization

That all makes a lot of sense to me! 10K does a lot of unhealthy attachment to role models, esp. women, so I thought the connection on his mom's side would be good. Especially since his dad cut contact with a bunch of people. He wouldn't have wanted to leave his dad, but I think Cassian would have been a big comfort on the days when he was lonely and missing his mom and not sure what to do :(
